3D Applications

For our next assignment in TEE 125, we will be exploring 3D applications. 3D apps bring in a broad range of softwares, both those that involve modeling techniques, CAD systems, and programming.

In light of the amount of time we have spent on other assignments we have a last minute adjustment to our syllabus. We will no longer be doing the GPS assignment, nor will we be doing separate programming and 3D animation assignments! Instead we will be exploring and having learning adventures with various 3D and programming animation programs!

Assignment: Select a minimum of 1 software listed below, download it (yes, there are cross platform apps listed below) and learn it over the next week (that means you need to invest a minimum of 6 hours learning the app.!) Then during the week of Dec. 4, 6, 8 (next week) you will present what you learned (what the app is, how it is or can be used, examples of what you created while learning the app., an analysis of whether the app should be used in schools/ else where, etc.) Post your analysis to both our class wiki here, and to the class moodle under the 3D assignment.

Your grade (for those that are interested) will be based on being able to go from ground zero, to being able to demonstrate a competent understanding of the app (this means justifying a minimum of 6 hours of learning!)

I believe this assignment will be more helpful and meet the direction/ objective of TEE 125 because it will expose us to a broader spectrum of 3D and programming apps.

NOTE: you are note limited to the following list of apps - these are simply ones that I have come across and or used. If you find or know of something else you would like to use please add it to the list.
