Today as the guest speaker (Matt Sherry) visits I would hope you all take the time to really understand the field of technology he represents and its impact on us, society, and the environment. I went through the STLs this morning and picked out one of them that I feel best connects with the discussion/ guest lecture today:
STL 3
Students will develop an understanding of the relationships among technologies and the connections between technology and other fields of study.
So, the questions you might/ should be asking are: What technologies are associated/ used in the print industry? What and how do they impact other things in our lives and world? Why do I need/ should I know this technology, what good is it for me, what are it's impacts and carryovers? What does this technology do for other areas of society? Here are some possible issues to consider = future trends, evolution, collaboration (world sharing, consortium), copyright issues, carry over into other subject areas, etc.)
