Great job!

I can't believe it! The blogging in both classes is incredible. I hope that those who are participating in this exercise are finding this as beneficial as I am. I have read all of your blogs, and there are several which have provided me great finds and tid-bits of info. Nice work, keep it up! Here are a few interesting reads:

I am not sure who wrote this one, but I found it to be pertinent to our class (it did come from group BrownandBlue):

This is a study I found at CNN.com about kids use of media and their ability to multitask (chatting while watching tv) while using it. This is just a quote from the article. The link can be found below.
"On average, kids devoted six hours and 21 minutes a day to recreational media use, up just two minutes from 1999, the Kaiser study found. That's more than 44 hours a week -- four more hours than a parent's typical work week"

It's an interesting thing to think about and to wonder what the consequences are. The majority of kids now are constantly exposed to television, whether they are watching it or not. How might this be effecting them?

Personally, I don't think that it helps them at all. A few parents noted in the study set rules up about television, but the majority do not. I think this is something that we as teachers and parents need to watch out for and set up opinions about, so if and when a question about watching tv comes up, we already have an answer.

There were two posts from the "mindtools" group which were quality finds and reflections. Joane Q. shared a personal story which I found to be very interesting. Thanks for sharing. And Laura posted a pretty good find, here's the link: http://www.teach-nology.com/tutorials/teaching/esl/2/

Jenn Nicolaysen found and wrote the following blog re: grading and assessment. Obviously, because we are all teachers, who have limited time, I am sure this will be of some service to us all:

Great Website for creating rubrics!

By sweetbyu

I found this great website for creating rubrics.
Go to http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php

You can select the rubrics that have already been created, or as a teacher, you can create your own for whatever project you are doing with your class. You have to subscribe first, but it costs absolutely nothing. I used it myself and it was great. you can even save it online and come back to it later!

Again, I commend you all on your practice of RSS "repentance." I am very impressed, and enjoy reading your posts, it has helped me expand my knowledge and teaching practice.
