iMovie Assignment

iMovie is a great tool to use in your classroom. Apple.com has several examples (two of which I showed in class) which demonstrate how to integrate the technology (see: http://ali.apple.com/ ). After class on Tuesday I remember several things I failed to mention and or clarify; however, with two weeks to complete the assignment and knowing of your elevated thinking and creative capacity I am sure you will be fine:

1) You will not have room to save your movie on a Flash Drive. Therefore, go to the bookstore and buy a CDRW which will provided you a CD disc you can read and write to. Not only can you save your final exported .mov file, but the actual movie files.

2) Remember to check the class website for the grading rubric for this assignment. However, here's a brief summary: i) make a "sweet movie." This includes having an audio track, a narration (your voice imported - use the mic and record), use of transitions, photo effects, and text.

3) Export your movie (go to file > share > click on Quicktime > and then save the file as a .mov somewhere you can find it (you will want to choose the webstream or cd-rom quality from the drop down menu), and volia.

4) The flow chart/ story board was an important aspect of the assignment. If you did not use MSWord to create a story board (and I know some might not see the importance of this stage, but in a classroom students need this pre-planning aspect to cognitively organize their thoughts and ideas) you still need to grapple with this aspect.

5) I also failed to introduce a program called "Inspiration" which we will discuss and use next time (therefore, if you have time check it out - a little background knowledge will only help you scaffold more effectively.)

6.) Have a great break, be safe, eat a lot of turkey (enjoy its triptophin effects), and keep on blogging
